Break The Cycle

The Bears Community Foundation, Robins Foundation and Bristol Sport Foundation came together as one for Break The Cycle 2024 as cyclists helped raise almost £30,000 to support the incredible life-changing work of the Bristol Sport Group charities.

More than 160 riders took on the 14th edition of the annual fundraising challenge, departing Ashton Gate Stadium on either the Gold (100 mile), Silver (66 mile) or Bronze (33 mile) routes designed by three-time Olympian and Bristol native Oli Beckingsale.

Bears Foundation Community Development Manager Craig Capel says,

“Break The Cycle is the primary fundraising event for Bristol Bears Community Foundation and the chance to provide yet more life-changing experiences for those that jump on a bike, and importantly, the people in our community we look to support as a result. Funds raised from this year’s event will support our inclusion programmes, specifically those that exist to support access to sport & physical activity for those with disabilities, additional needs or live in areas of high deprivation... Every penny raised by Bears fans will support the work of Bristol Bears Community Foundation.”
