ETHICAL MANUFACTURING THE SECRET WEAPON FOR SAVING THE PLANET

At The Long Run Club, ethical manufacturing is at the heart of everything we do. As a brand we hold ourselves to the highest standards of sustainability, transparency, and fair working conditions.

But what does ethical manufacturing really mean, and how does it shape the way we create our sportswear?

Fair Wages & Safe Working Conditions

One of the most important aspects of ethical manufacturing is ensuring that every person involved in making our kit is treated with dignity and respect. This means fair wages, safe working environments, and legal employment protections. We work with factories that provide living wages—not just minimum wages—so workers can support their families and live with financial security.

Our suppliers are carefully selected based on their adherence to international labor standards, including fair working hours and safe conditions. By maintaining close relationships with our factories, we can ensure that ethical standards are consistently upheld.

Sustainable Materials & Responsible Sourcing

The sportswear industry has traditionally relied on synthetic, petroleum-based fabrics that contribute to environmental degradation. At The Long Run Club, we take a different approach by prioritising recycled and organic materials.

We use recycled polyester from post-consumer waste like plastic bottles, as well as organic cotton that is grown without harmful pesticides. This not only reduces our environmental footprint but also supports ethical farming communities and responsible material sourcing.

Minimising Waste & Circular Design

Fast fashion has taught us that mass production often leads to excessive waste, with unsold or defective products ending up in landfill. We design with longevity in mind—creating high-quality, durable kit that is made to last, not to be discarded after a single season.

We also focus on circularity, meaning that our products are designed to be recycled or repurposed at the end of their life cycle. Our take-back schemes and commitment to closed-loop production help keep materials in use for as long as possible, reducing waste and environmental impact.

Finally we only ever produce to order, so no kit is left languishing on shelves or offloaded to landfill.

Transparency & Continuous Improvement

We believe that true ethical manufacturing requires full transparency. That’s why we openly share information about our supply chain, our materials, and our factories. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our processes, whether that means introducing new low-impact dyeing methods, reducing water usage, or supporting initiatives that empower garment workers.

Ethical Manufacturing in Action

When your team wear The Long Run Club kit, you’re not just wearing high-performance sportswear—you’re wearing a product made with care, responsibility, and respect for both people and the planet. We are proud to challenge the status quo in the sportswear industry, proving that performance and ethics can go hand in hand.
